As you may already know, the in-person Letter Carriers' Food Drive this year was canceled due to COVID-19. Because of this, our local food shelves went without thousands of pounds of food over these past few months, making this summer even more difficult for them. But, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) is not willing to let mouths go unfed! NALC has decided to set up a "Donor Drive" in place of the in-person food drive this year, which will allow food shelves the ability to purchase the items they NEED from local businesses and incredible organizations like the Vermont Foodbank.
Starting now through July 31st, you can donate to your favorite local food shelf within Rutland County by clicking on the following Letter Carriers Donor Drive link:
Donor Drive Link: www.nalc.org/food
You'll see the following non-profit organizations listed as possible donation sites within Rutland County: Rutland Community Cupboard, BROC-Community Action in Southwestern Vermont Food Shelf, The Salvation Army, Worship & Community Center of Rutland, VT Food Shelf, and United Way of Rutland County.
All of the listings include a direct link to the donor page for each organization. If you wish to donate to a Rutland County food shelf not listed on the web page, that's where we come in! Below, you will find a list of the food shelves UWRC will send your donations to:
1.) Fair Haven Concerned, Inc.
2.) Brandon Area Emergency Food Shelf
3.) Castleton Cares, Inc.
4.) Pittsford Food Shelf
5.) Poultney Food Shelf
6.) West Rutland Food Shelf
7.) Wallingford Food Shelf
8.) Pawlet Community Church Food Shelf
9.) Our Neighbor's Table Food Shelf in Wells
Please Note: 100% of your donation will be sent to your favorite food shelf. If you are donating through our UWRC donor page, make sure you state the name of the food shelf you wish to donate to within the "Designated Agency" section of the page.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION!
