The National Association of Letter Carriers will be collecting non-perishable food items like canned meats and fish, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice on Saturday, May 10 to help families in need in our community.

You can help by placing your food donation at your mailbox on May 10 before your letter carrier arrives.  It will be taken to the Post Office, sorted and then delivered to BROC, The Community Cupboard and The Salvation Army.  In the Fair Haven area, food collected will be delivered to Fair Haven Concerned.  In Poultney, food goes to the Poultney Food Shelf.  Pease do not include out-of-date items, homemade goods or items in glass containers.

For the 16th year in our community, United Way of Rutland County has partnered with the National Association of Letter Carriers #495 in the annual nation-wide Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Over the years, the drive has collected over 200,000 pounds of food to help feed the needy in our community.  Nationally, the food drive met a record 70 million tons collected in 2006.  NALC #495, United Way and our local food shelves would like to thank you for your support of this years food drive.
